Lead Pro A/V Technician

This is a full-time, in-person role. We are hiring for openings in Canton, MA (serving clients throughout New England) and Charleston, SC (serving clients throughout the Southeast). Work takes place both in the shop and on-site at client locations

About the Role
Are you a skilled A/V technician ready to take the lead? We're seeking a Lead Pro A/V Technician to join our team - someone who can roll up their sleeves on-site as well as guide others in delivering clean, reliable, and professional A/V systems.
In this hands-on role, you'll install and commission systems across a wide variety of projects, including large venue classrooms, corporate boardrooms, educational institutions, performance/entertainment spaces, and houses of worship. You'll take ownership of your work, support junior team members, and collaborate with clients and contractors to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities
Install, test, and commission A/V systems, including video projection, sound reinforcement, conferencing, control, and lighting systems
Interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and floor plans
Mount, terminate, dress, program, and configure displays/projectors, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, RF distribution, video walls, cameras, intercoms, wall plates, racks, and network infrastructure
Program and configure DSP, control, and matrix systems (experience with Q-SYS, Extron, Biamp, Symetrix, or Crestron a plus)
Maintain meticulous wiring and cable management
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues independently or with engineering support
Document installations and perform system-level testing before handoff
Train clients and end-users on system functionality
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
Manage day-to-day crew tasks
Mentor, direct, and support junior technicians
Own day-to-day site leadership, including scheduling tasks and ensuring milestones are met
Requirements
6+ years of experience in A/V installation or services, including lead/supervisory experience
Proficiency in signal flow, system wiring, and safe installation practices
Familiarity with low-voltage wiring standards (Cat6, audio, video, control, etc.)
Comfort using power tools, lifts/ladders, and test equipment
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted; work in ceiling/wall spaces and at height
Must pass DOT physical (Department of Transportation medical exam)
Strong communication and time-management skills
Bonus Points
AutoCAD or other CAD software experience
CTS or CTS-I Certification
Experience with Dante, Q-SYS, Symetrix, Biamp, or Crestron NVX
Theatrical lighting and rigging familiarity
MEWP/scissor lift certification
Experience in K-12, higher ed, and/or performance venue installs

About the Role
High Output is seeking a Pro A/V Systems Consultant - a hybrid role that combines sales capabilities with technical design expertise. In this role, you’ll meet with clients, assess needs, and develop solutions that blend audio, video, lighting, and control systems. You’ll not only design the systems but also build relationships, create proposals, and close projects, working with internal teams to deliver installations that exceed expectations.
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys both the client-facing side of sales and the hands-on technical detail of design and integration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage client relationships across various sectors, including education, performance, corporate, and worship spaces.
Meet with clients, architects, and consultants to assess needs and site conditions.
Translate requirements into designs, scopes of work, and budgets.
Prepare proposals, RFP responses, and presentations that win projects.
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and PMs to ensure feasibility and margin protection.
Support field teams during project handoff and commissioning when needed.
Achieve individual sales targets while maintaining strong technical accuracy.
Requirements
3–5+ years of experience in A/V integration, technical sales, or systems design.
Proven ability to win and manage client accounts.
Strong knowledge of A/V system design, signal flow, and common platforms.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to balance sales activity (pipeline, proposals, closing) with technical design responsibilities.
Proficiency in CAD/Visio or similar design tools preferred.
CTS certification strongly preferred; CTS-D a plus.
Bonus Points

Background in live production, performance spaces, or theatrical integration.

High Output is looking for a motivated and flexible driver with CDL Class A license to be a full time delivery driver.
Drivers will be making deliveries primarily in Eastern Massachusetts, but also around New England. Our delivery vehicles include vans, stake bodies, 24’ box trucks and tractor trailers. Many deliveries include towing small trailers. A good driving record is required. Some late night and weekend work required. We offer a full benefits package. This is a full time position with frequent overtime hours.
Knowledge of the entertainment lighting or media production industry is helpful but not required.
Applicants should be well-organized, motivated, dependable, able to work with an existing system and take on new responsibilities as their contributions to the company increase.

Positions are offered on an event-by-event basis for projects throughout the year. Duties will include loading and unloading trucks, setting up, operating, and breaking down various equipment on site, and other department specific tasks. Candidates should be able to lift 50lbs, be on their feet for extended periods of time, follow instructions carefully, and be positive, punctual, and proactive team members.
