The Rhodes Arts Center System Installation
The arts program at Northfield Mount Hermon has a profound effect on its' students’ lives. Their students are encouraged to participate, whether as a beginner or as an experienced artist, in a program which allows them the freedom to imagine, take creative risks, and be more fully themselves. The arts faculty, whom are experienced artists, who recognize an inherent talent or when a student is holding back, strongly support developing artists helping them feel safe, valued, and inspired to take their dreams to the next level.
The spectacular new Rhodes Arts Center opened its doors to students in September 2008, bringing students, teachers, artists and audiences together to further strengthen their community while enhancing the educational experience for all.
William R. Rhodes, a member of the class of 1953 and chairman emeritus of the NMH Board of Trustees, donated $5 million for the school’s new center for the arts. To honor his lead gift toward this critical project, as well as the faithful service and support given to the school by his father, Edward R. Rhodes class of '16, the arts center has been named The Rhodes Arts Center.
